MINISTRIES OF INTEREST

Below are listed some ministries which Christian Service has become interested in assisting since they are actively seeking to reach Cambodian people with the gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ.

Haven of Hope School/Home for Girls at Risk

This ministry has been started in a Christian & Missionary Alliance Church by a businessman living in Akron, OH. Presently living in the home are 18 girls, mostly Vietnamese, ranging in ages from 8 to 20 years, who have been rescued before being sold by their family into the sex trade. They are being housed, fed, and taught the Word of God and provided an education which includes learning a trade and being taught English, which will later help them to secure a better paying job.

A young woman from the U.S. spent three months in early 2007 working with the girls in this home.  Short term ministry opportunities like this, ones involved in evangelism or discipleship, can be arranged by CSII in this ministry and as well as few others.

You may learn about the home for girls in Phnom Penh, Cambodia as well as some background information with respect to the situation in which many young SE Asian girls face in that part of the world.” PLEASE CLICK HERE TO VIEW THIS PRESENTATION

Remember Nhu is a non-profit, U.S. based ministry founded by Carl Ralston, an Akron, OH businessman.

Resource Development International – Cambodia (RDIC)

This ministry, headed by Dr. Mickey Sampson, PhD, RDIC’s Country Director, is seeking to provide the means for Cambodians to obtain clean water and to learn to grow both animals and crops which will improve their food diet. In addition they have developed video training materials which are designed to train Cambodians to improve their way of life as well as share the gospel with them through this medium.

Volunteers may spend short term periods of time with this ministry in helping to better the lifestyle of Cambodians while sharing the love of Christ in the process.

You may view more about this ministry at:  www.rdic.org.

World Relief – Cambodia (Hope Program)

This is a ministry which is reaching out with love, compassion, and the gospel to 10,000 HIV/AIDS patients with 3,000 volunteers throughout Cambodia. Cell groups have been formed which minister to these people in small groups. Many are coming to faith as a result of ministering to their physical and spiritual needs.

There is also another phase of this Hope Program which is sharing the gospel to children by means of weekly and by-weekly gatherings of children in playgrounds to sing songs, listen to Bible stories, and see live dramas of Bible stories, all designed to reach children with the gospel.

Additional Ministries of Interest To Be Added

One such ministry that CSII is currently seeking to assist is a teaching ministry (Theological Education by Extension – TEE) which is doing a good work in providing curriculum and teachers to teach Bible courses to pastors and lay church leaders, something that we feel is badly needed in Cambodia. They have a current need of some funding for making additional Bible teaching courses available for training pastors and lay church leaders.
